Kristine Neil is the Founder and Creative Director of Markon Brands, a communications agency based in Vancouver, Washington. Markon specializes in branding, Squarespace websites, social media, and public relations for small to medium businesses. Before founding Markon, Neil was the Chief Operating Officer for one of the largest window fabrication companies in the country. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science from Western Washington University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. After working her way up to the C-suite managing other people's companies for nearly a decade, Kristine needed to stretch her entrepreneurial and creative muscles. Markon was founded in 2012 when Kristine launched the unique plan to buy an old print shop and morph it into a design and marketing agency. Kristine's journey to building a branding studio from the remnants of a near-obsolete business proves that the road to success is rarely ever a straight line. Her agency started by leveraging the changing needs of the diverse clientele of the going-out-of-business print shop. It has since grown to help ambitious entrepreneurs across the country elevate their communications on social media, the web, and in the real world. As Markon’s current creative director, she combines a lifelong love of design with a background in management, communications, and marketing, creating cohesive and compelling brands for clients with her distinctive multimedia approach. Being an entrepreneur with extensive management experience herself, she is well suited to work with both newly formed and established companies on brand identity and digital marketing projects. Her company may no longer be in the print business, but the long history of being “makers” in an increasingly digital world sets her and her team’s work apart.
